The purpose of the Holy Name Council of Catholic Women is to serve as a medium through which the council may act for the good of the Church, our community and our country in agreement with the objectives of the Sheridan deanery and the Wyoming Council of Catholic Women.

 

Membership: All women over 18 of Holy Name, Our Lady of the Pines, and St. Edmunds parishes are members of the Holy Name Council of Catholic Women. General Meetings and Luncheon: Held the first Wednesday of the month at 12 noon in the Holy Name Parish Hall. All women of the three parishes are invited to attend. Come join us! Board Meetings: Held monthly. Watch the bulletin for time and place. Circle Meetings: Held monthly. Watch the bulletin for time and place Deanery Meetings: Held twice a year, spring and fall.

Women of the Council of Catholic Women are dedicated to being a part of the parish community as well as the organization as a whole - world wide. This is achieved by being supportive of each other, praying for the needs of the people of the parish, serving the parish with their talents and interests, and being involved in the ministries that they are called to.

In addition to the many parish activities the Council is involved in, they also help out at the Soup Kitchen and run the Holy Name Thrift Shop. The Thrift Shop is a project taken on by the Council to help the needy of the parish as well as raise extra funds for the parish.

Bake cookies and cakes as needed
Bereavement Committee/Mass luncheon
Clean church and kitchen before Easter
Clean purificators
Confirmation reception - provide cake
CCW Sunday - day of reflection and membership drive
Decorate the First Communion breakfast
Funeral Dinners
Gabrielle's Angel project
Mother/Daughter banquet (1st Wednesday in May)
Rose bowls for 90+ year olds on Mother's Day
Fold bulletins, stuff envelopes, change out missals, etc
Prepare and serve meals and receptions as requested
Serve coffee and donuts after Sunday Mass

You may want to be active in CCW because this will enable you to be of faith and service to Go through service to the people around you. You will receive enrichment, encouragement, and inspiration by the group participation in worthwhile programs. There will be opportunities to strengthen your faith while working on these worthwhile projects. You will grow in grace, knowledge, and friendship because you have given of your time, talent, and caring to others in the parish and community. As women, we can support each other to grow in our Faith and love of God as well as our families.
